If a collective agreement exists between the company and a recognised trade union this clause confirms the terms of employment it covers, eg pay, hours of work, holidays, disciplinary and grievance procedure. If no agreement exists the employee is made aware of this fact.

This letter informs a trade union that, despite correspondence from it which indicates it believes itself as recognised, the organisation is not aware of any previous recognition agreement. As a result of this, the organisation will not enter into any discussions regarding collective bargaining or industrial action.
