This checklist should be used to assess whether an employee is eligible for maternity leave and statutory maternity pay. Please note that entitlement to ordinary and additional maternity leave is a ‘day one’ right for all employees; all pregnant employees are entitled to 26 weeks’ ordinary maternity leave (OML) and 26 weeks’ additional maternity leave (AML) regardless of their length of service.
