This policy sets out how an organisation will go about testing employees for alcohol and drugs.
Letter to employee who failed a random drugs test
This letter confirms to an employee the date and time of the test they failed, the substance they were tested positively for and that this will now be investigated further by the organisation. It also includes an option that invites the employee to take the test again.
Letter to employee who has disclosed that they have a substance addiction
This letter acknowledges a previous disclosure from the employee and provides options for the organisation to refer the employee to both internal and external support. It also outlines that the organisation may need to take further action to ensure the safety of the employee and their colleagues.
